Los Rojiblancos‘ board has decided to appoint Argentine coach Matías Almeyda as the new coach for the upcoming season.
Almeyda has previously coached several clubs, including River Plate, Banfield, Deportivo Guadalajara, and SJ Earthquakes, but his most notable period came with AEK Athens.
The coach successfully led the Greek team to league and cup titles in the 2022/2023 season, after four seasons without winning the league and six seasons without winning the cup.
