Napoli hosted AC Milan at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for Gameweek 31 of Serie A 2025/2026 in a clash that was decisive for the second spot in the league.
The match ended with a late 1-0 win for Napoli following an intense tactical contest that saw numerous in-game adjustments from both sides as they tried to surprise each other and adapt to the various situations.
The win allows Napoli to climb to second place, ahead of Milan, and be seven points behind Inter Milan, leaving Milan in third with a two-point gap.
Milan officially lost their Scudetto hopes following this loss and will have to win their remaining games to guarantee a top-four finish and avoid being chased down by Como or Juventus, who are not too far from the third spot.
In this tactical analysis, we focus on Napoli’s successful second-half changes and on how and why both teams’ tactics failed to make a difference in the first half.
A couple of weeks ago, Total Football Analysis produced a scout report on one of the EFL Championship’s in-form attackers, Harvey Vale, who was on the verge of making his international debut for the Republic of Ireland at the time of writing.
We used weighted combinations of raw Wyscout data to build custom metrics tailored for right-wingers in our analysis, and Vale stood out as a rising, system-dependent playmaking asset who likes to invert from the right wing, positionally.
Using that same dataset, we’ve produced this Carlos Forbs scout report.
Forbs profiles in many ways as a complete contrast to Harvey Vale.
Rather than a controller or pure creator, Carlos Forbs is an explosive dribbler whose game centres on volume carries and 1v1 duels.
What makes Carlos Forbs stand out is not just that profile, which is admittedly a personal favourite of mine, but on top of that, he is not one-dimensional.
He’s not just a fast dribbler, Forbs is capable of beating defenders regularly when going 1v1 against them and, crucially, delivering an end product.
This Carlos Forbs scout report shares analysis of Carlos Forbs’ style of play with Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League and UEFA Champions League 2025/2026.
Maxence Lacroix Scout Report At Crystal Palace 2025/2026: Ready For The Next Step? – Player Analysis
Maxence Lacroix made a big move from VfL Wolfsburg to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 for an €18m fee, which was below his market value of €20m at the time.
He recently received his first call-up to the France national team in March and played quite well, suggesting he could be called up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He has become a key player for Crystal Palace and their backline, and is now attracting attention from other European clubs who may have overlooked him from his years at Wolfsburg.
In this Maxence Lacroix scout report and player analysis, we examine how Maxence Lacroix has been playing at Crystal Palace this season, whether staying at the club is the right move or if someone comes sweeping in, what makes sense and where he should head next.
