Seth Ridgeon is a 16-year-old whiz kid who has just been tied down to a long-term contract at Fulham, despite significant interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea.

With all the immense talent in the England squad at that age level, their limp showing at the recent U17 European Championships was nothing short of criminal.

England U17 humiliatingly exited the tournament in the group stage after drawing 1–1 with Belgium, losing 4–2 to Italy, and beating Czechia 4–2, but ultimately falling short on goal difference.

One player who did not disappoint and stepped right up to the plate was the Three Lions’ wildly energetic No. 8 Seth Ridgeon, who was terrific in all three games.

Ridgeon captained his country with poise and flair at the Euros, delivering a standout assist against Belgium and commanding midfield performances that lit up the frustrating early exit.

Despite that team featuring some of the tournament’s most dazzling talents, including Max Dowman, Rio Ngumoha, Junai Byfield, and Alejandro Rodríguez, Ridgeon emerged as England’s most consistent performer.

Ridgeon is also eligible for the Sri Lanka national team, though he has already made 15 appearances for England at the U16 and U17 levels since debuting in October 2023.

The young midfielder has already made his mark in the Premier League 2 for Fulham, scoring three goals and registering one assist in seven appearances at that level last season.

Ridgeon played over 1200 minutes across matches for Fulham’s U18 and U21 teams and even started in the semi-final of the Premier League International Cup against Olympique Lyonnais.

This player analysis and scout report will examine Seth Ridgeon’s midfield style, technical and physical profile, and potential role in Marco Silva‘s tactical setup at Fulham during the 2025/2026 Premier League season and beyond.

Nathan Saliba, a Canadian international midfielder, has secured a move from CF Montréal to Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht in a deal worth €2m.

The 21-year-old leaves MLS having shown steady progression in his game.

He combines athleticism with composure in midfield, a profile that aligns well with Anderlecht’s development-focused model.

The Purple & White identified Saliba as a player with strong developmental upside, and the move aligns with the club’s continued emphasis on integrating high-potential young talent into their midfield structure.

The 21-year-old has signed a contract running until 2029, with CF Montréal retaining a sell-on clause in the deal.

This transfer comes after a strong 2024 season in MLS, where Saliba established himself as one of the league’s top young midfielders, earning a nomination for MLS Young Player of the Year.

His mix of physicality, composure, energy and tactical maturity made him a standout figure in Montréal’s midfield, and that foundation will now be tested in a more demanding European environment.

Given Anderlecht’s squad composition, Saliba is expected to compete immediately for minutes in a box-to-box or deep-lying midfield role.

His ball-winning energy and ability to circulate possession under pressure should give him a chance to adapt quickly, especially in a system that values structured build-up play and off-the-ball discipline.

The Belgian Pro League will be a major step up in terms of tempo and tactical variation, but the move looks well-suited to Saliba’s profile and long-term potential.

If he adjusts well and stays injury-free, this could prove to be a smart stepping stone before a future move to one of Europe’s top-five leagues.

This player analysis will explore Saliba’s technical and tactical profile in detail in the following sections, assessing his strengths, areas for improvement, and how he might be deployed under RSC Anderlecht’s setup.
